None of CA Lucky for Life scratchers gave me satisfactory results but I still play them anyway. But as of now, one should buy $2 LFL since it is the only LFL Game that is behind schedule. Meaning the number of claimed top prizes are lower than expected, based on their sales.

They printed over 65 million tickets, i play alot, too much as a matter fact, but it seems to me what they do is find stores (mom and pop) in areas that carry just about all the games they have going and continually feed them with horrible books of tickets. the stores I play at always had BDB, 200 million spect, casino action, high roller, yet when you play them thinking odds are ever increasing in your favor to hit something, you dont. TN had something similar a few years ago. Now that I think of it, it ended a bit sooner than most other games. In fact it was advertised as ending soon separate from all other games that were due to end.

Now there is a $5 game but the prizes are all cash, nothing to do with winning actual PB or MM tix like the previous $2 one.

I typically do the best buying 3 at a time. But I'm a chaser so if I buy 3 and then buy 3 more its very bad and I loose horribly. I Need to STOP chasing and recommend everyone else not chase as well it's easier said then done. so I recommend buying 3 at a time and if you win awesome if not run as fast as you can and maybe go back the next day. Scratch offs in my area go real quick so chances are the roll you played on will be gone within the day (in my area

If anyone wants to buy a roll of tickets, just give me the money and i'll give you half back cause 9 times out of 10 that's what's going to happen. If you are rich or have the budget, go for it!

I usually just buy $20 most at a time, usually 1 $10 and 2 $5 tickets (in a day) and have had great success with winning $50's to $500's which is a bigger thrill than buying a whole crap load just to maybe get half back. It's all timing.

In CA, large draw/lotto prizes that are unclaimed can go straight to education funding, not put back in the prize pool for other use.

Scratch games are different. All the unclaimed tickets of varying size just end up making the game return less than it it should.(say, 69% instead of 71%) They can then use those funds to cover unexpeced prize liability from draw/lotto games, or offer additional promotions like raffles and 2nd chance, or create better scratch games.

I was at the DO the other day and they had almost every ticket in play except Black, jubillee, BDB and maybe a few others. I did see the Guy harbey scratchoffs though and some other real old games

Wish i had brought cash because there were some games i have never played there.

The way I look at it, the entire play area of scratch games is just a clever ruse. You aren't really *playing* anything. The ticket is a loser or a winner with a prize amount. All the tricks of adjacent numbers, reversed numbers, losing amounts, almost matches, multiple matches, etc. is just them playing psychological mind games on you for the purpose of addiction.

To me, the *real* act of playing scratchers is the selection of store/day/time and which game to play and how much to buy. Please... [ More ]

They answered me back a month after I wrote them two emails complaining but I am glad they eventually responded. I know they probably get a lot of complaints but there's a lot he is doing wrong. I believe it may be just to pacify me into thinking they'll do something. I don't think his first name is a real one but his last name is Patel (his first is a common name, like Dave or John for example.) I hope you are right though.

CA has the pack number (Ticket ID) on both the front and the back.

Question is, why would they choose to NOT print it on the front? From what I have observed, the more mature lotteries on the East coast are sneakier in their scratch manufacture than some of us other states. I use the pack number in part of my determination of which tickets to buy that day. So by not printing it on the front, it would make it more difficult if you have to ask the clerk to turn the ticket over and read the back... [ More ]

That's just a guide. If you look at the 20-bin and 24-bin guides, Shamrock is in there.

It would only come into play if the store only had a tiny 16-bin machine, and no counter bins, and that's all they could offer for sale. Well, that's the games the Lottery guys want you to sell. I hardly ever see a machine stocked like the guides though, the stores seem play fast loose with the layout.

I was just trying to figure out how many retailers there might be in IL- best guess 5-10K. CA bigger market than IL.

IL has at least one scratcher with 7 mil odds- $20 ticket.

So once again, transparency is key as you indicated before. Without knowing the volume of sales for a particular game, in addition to exactly knowing when and where the jackpots were sold well, then you best have lady luck on your side.

No, the tix numbers thing is just a superstition. Pay attention to anyone else playing it see if they win or lose before you. If they win, I don't play the next ticket. If they lose, I'm right in line.

I have found that EVERYTIME I hit for $100 or more, the next 5 to 10 tix are all losers.

Ask the retailer if they've notices any winners on that roll....sometimes they tell you, sometimes they don't.

Nice wins and welcome aboard. PA is generally 50%, so I would say you had a decent roll and an average roll.. I have found similarities like that also. I got a few $5 rolls that paid back $160($300) and $20 rolls pay $320($600).

Okay for me, before I buy one, I take a look on the back on the ticket and look for distinguishing marks on the edges of the ticket. Like an L shaped pattern in the corner edge. Hope that helps some.

I bought 10 - $1 tickets and not one was a winner. I'm convinced now the $1 tickets should be banned. I will not be buying another $1 ticket this year. I was thinking about the $20 ticket but opt out and bought $1 this time. I don't think I'm going to stick with the $100 per month because I really think it's a waste. I guess I am playing about the same. I try to behave myself and take one ticket home after work (one before work, too). After all, it only takes ONE ticket to win, right? However, if I buy ten $3 tickets, I most likely will win on ONE ticket (ha!). You have to be cautious here in our town, as we have the notorious ticket hawks that will frequnt certain retailers and stand in the store to scrach until they win. Yeah this game is shared by many states but is exclusive to each.

I noticed the $5 Giant Jumbo in SC has a 'bonus' box that i don't think GA has and TN for sure doesn't have.

I think the SC top prize on Giant Jumbo is only $75k though.

Check the rules on the back of your ticket or go to your states lottery website. In florida we can cash our tickets at the same place we bought the tix or anywhere whey sell scratch offs. As long as its $600 or less. If I win $500 I cash out at publixs our grocery store.

NY Scratch offs Which one weekly payout games or big payout ?

Hi all

Been off the site for a while but have some questions, Im in Rockland county and have only been buying Win for Life tickets, never won big less than $100 per ticket but enough to keep buying.

Is this the way I should be going ($10 a ticket) or should I be looking at the big payout tickets instead, if so which ones work for you?

Also anyone using Wheels for the Lotto, Pick 3-5? How much cash are you making a year is it worth doing?

I am left handed also. I usually go with the counter at the place next to work, but he will keep my imformed of any good hits. I dont mind the older machines. I always feel with the new, cash your own tickets ,machines that people could easily buy and scratch barcode and rescan til they are happy with the results. This leaving more duds for everyone else.

Actually, scratch offs have much better overall odds and return than pick 4. You will both lose more often and lose a greater percentage when playing pick 4 than you will playing scratch offs. Either way you lose though, the statistics of the lottery demand it. But with the instant nature of scratch offs, you can lose a lot *faster* if you aren't careful, so only spend what you feel comfortable with losing.

Welcome Loopie77! As omiller mentioned, I think PA lottery has gone downhill. I live in NE PA and scratch offs around here have been cold, but lately people in my area have been winning on the cash 5 and other jackpot drawings. Unlike omiller, I find that the best tickets are the first six or seven in a roll. I only play from machines though. Cashiers in my area tend to ticket watch.

I'm new to scratch offs and have been reading all the posts on them. Which ones do you like the best? Which lower priced ones have more winners? I've tried 2 BDB and got $25 and 2 GRT and got nothing. I buy in Pensacola. Does location make a difference? Maybe less big winners on the Panhandle than central FL or South FL. What do y'all think

Hmm... being a place like NY. i will most likely have to check those Convenient-Stores = Gas stations that are like in the middle of nowhere, where a lot of high ways and express ways are.. these type of tickets u never find in the Bodega ran by the Arab-Money type of fellas.. i heard the newsstand up there somewhere in the City have lucky pulls. but i will never know until i waste my $ looking for the golden ticket. i have a gut feeling, perhaps going towards upstate driving, those Truck stops,... Jesus that is more than terrible. that is just robbery.

To add what skeptic said, 1 in 3 is OVERALL odds. which means out of the MILLIONS of tickets printed, 33% are winning tickets. Since florida has no individual regulations on rolls, it might be that a roll can have 30 duds or 30 winners. I have bought $20 rolls with 20 winners out of 30 but i have also bought rolls with only 6 winners. Like I said, i went thru more than half a roll of $200MS once and did not get a single winner.

I don't think they will stop making the dollar scratchers because their probably hoping the $1 scratcher player will get hooked and move up the ladder

Got another double candy cane today. Ticket 249 and 250. Is that the end of the $1.00 ticket rolls? Well 249 had a candy cane and 2 $5.00 so I get $10.00. 250 nothing.

The pathetic thing is that I'm winning more on these dollar candy canes than the others.

I was doing quite well on the $3.00 Wild card bingo but haven't got a thing in the last 6 or 7 tickets. Lottery must have put a new batch out because all of a sudden they suck lol.
