RAYNHAM, Mass. — Season ticket holder Christopher Voelker of Raynham, Massachusetts, is the winner of a $2.97 million jackpot prize in the state lottery's Megabucks Doubler drawing that took place Saturday, May 26.
Voelker claimed his prize at the Lottery's Braintree headquarters Monday, July 9, choosing the cash option and receiving a one-time payment of $2,277,443 (less tax withholdings).
He plans to use his winnings to buy a home.
Voelker received his Megabucks Doubler Season Ticket as a gift.
His ticket was purchased at Plymouth Liquors, 91 Carver Road in Plymouth.
The store receives a $29,700 bonus for the sale.
Season tickets are available for Megabucks Doubler, Mega Millions, Powerball, Lucky for Life and Mass Cash and can be purchased for 13-week, 26-week and 52-week periods.
Megabucks Doubler drawings take place every Wednesday and Saturday evening.
