CLIVE, Iowa — Sales are being stopped for one of the Iowa Lottery's $5 instant-scratch games.

The Lottery says it has received reports from players that "Cash Wheel" game tickets have been misprinted.

"We take seriously our responsibility to provide our players with accurate information and quality products," Iowa Lottery CEO Terry Rich said. "And while we have only received two reports of difficulties after more than 720,000 tickets have already been distributed in the 'Cash Wheel' game, we are removing the game from sale in an abundance of caution."

Sales of the "Cash Wheel" tickets began on July 2. The two players reported the numbers printed in the play area appeared to have shifted to the side as the tickets were printed, resulting in some of the numbers being hard or impossible to read.

"Any of our scratch games involve hundreds of thousands if not millions of tickets, and with any printed product, there can occasionally be a misprint," Rich said. "We are removing the Cash Wheel game from sale because it does not meet our expectations."

The Iowa Lottery says Almost 721,000 "Cash Wheel" tickets were already distributed to retailers and they are asking those retailers to pull the tickets from sale.
