One lucky lottery player who bought a lottery ticket in Douglas, Wyoming, will become the first person in the state's history to win a lottery jackpot.
A Cowboy Draw ticket purchased for the April 16 drawing won the game's $628,630 jackpot by matching all 5 numbers.
Cowboy Draw is Wyoming's first in-state lottery game, and its first drawing was held March 23. Its rolling jackpot was won on the game's eighth drawing.
The winner bought their ticket at the Maverik, located at 1108 W Yellowstone Hwy Douglas, at 12:12 p.m. on April 16. The winning numbers for April 16 were 6, 8, 9, 27, and 32.
"Our goal with Cowboy Draw game is to increase the fun and winnings for WyoLotto players," said Jon Clontz, CEO of the Wyoming Lottery Corporation." We did increase the payout percent giving our Wyoming players more chances to win. Our overall odds on this game are very low at 1:6 which makes it an easier game to win. We expect to see the number of jackpot winners continue to grow."
An additional 11 Wyoming Lottery players won $1,000 each in the April 16 drawing by matching 4 of 5 numbers, bringing the total of $1,000 winners to 76 since the game's inception.
Cowboy Draw jackpots start at $250,000 and grow each drawing until a player matches all 5 numbers.
The winner has 180 days to claim their prize.
YEEHA! Congrats to the lucky Cowboy Draw winner. (c8
Congratulation to the Wyoming lottery winner.
The winner could be a Utahn, from next door!
Congrats to the lucky first winner of the Cowboy Draw!
Nice starting pot of $250K. Makes N.J.'s 75K beginning jackpot " small potatoes."
But hey, Wyoming is Big Sky Country!
That's a nice win
Could be, but Douglas WY. is over 6 hours from Salt Lake City,
a long way to get lottery even for rural western travel.
I could go from SLC to Vegas in less then that
The ID border is a little over an hour.
That is nice, I don't play JC5 til it gets to $250K
Congratulations to the winner
Howdy Partner ! This old cowboy wishes you a nice trail ride and good weather.
