Pick 3 and Pick 4 games were affected

Several lottery players in Illinois were unable to purchase Pick 3 and Pick 4 tickets from retailers Tuesday, just before the midday drawing.

Around 5:50 p.m. Tuesday, Lottery officials said that the technical issue they experienced with Pick 3 and Pick 4 has been resolved.

"Players can resume purchasing tickets for these games at Illinois Lottery retailers," according to a tweet. "We apologize for the inconvenience. Tonight's 9:22 p.m. draw will take place as planned."

Officials said they were "aware" of the retail issue and apologized for the inconvenience.

"We are working to resolve this issue," the Illinois Lottery tweeted just after noon Tuesday.

The midday drawing set for 12:40 p.m. was expected to take place as planned because "tickets have already been purchased."

Officials noted that Pick 3 and Pick 4 tickets were still available online and via the lottery's mobile app. All other tickets were available for purchase as well.

Camelot Illinois has been disaster thus far running lottery

The last month+ has seen nothing but issues ranging from pick 3 and pick 4 fiasco to a frustrating inability to play multi draw on number games thru last 5+ weeks

Whatever they are doing is screwing everything up and today the multi draws were rejected by machines at multiple locations (Has been happening off and on in recent weeks thru area)

Lucky Day is supposed to allow you to play up to 25 draws (I normally play 14 = A week) but over recent weeks they have allowed a wild range of draws from only 9 to 4 to 14 to 4

Today I could only buy for 2 draws

On Mega and Powerball I buy 4 draws (2 weeks) but today I was only able to buy one draw for each game and since I began playing Illinois pick 6 years ago I have played 3 draws a week but today I was only allowed to buy 1 draw

Its been like this for last month and its getting absolutely frustrating and throwing off routine of not only me but most lotto players

they better fix it soon i might just quit playing il all together. i play on line anywayRantBang Head

1 draw!

That is what Lucky Day (Pick 5) allows today ,, 1 draw

I work nights which means I sleep most of day but now I have to go in morning and get ticket and then wake up and return to store in afternoon/evening for 2nd draw because there isn't any multi-draw

This is absolute joke at this point and annoying. Its been weeks of this nonsense but has hit low point today

Illinois Lottery will go down tonight at 8PM as they switch to new computer system they say

All advanced plays have been stopped now for last week+ and it has angered/pissed off alot of people as well as more issues with pick 3/4 games

They dont expect to be up and running until 9am-11am which means tomorrows lucky day mid day drawing and Pick 3/4 will if all goes right will only be available for purchase for limited time so many longtime players with #'s could very well miss out on drawing since they wont allow advanced purchase

Oddly they let me buy into next drawing of Illinois pick 6 (Monday) which confused me since they say they are changing over system/etc. I would think they wouldn't allow people to make purchases for games drawn under new computer until it is actually up and running

They were supposed to make this switch at start of Jan and it failed and there have been many empty lotto vending machines sitting across state at stores as well as smaller stores not receiving new machines yet they were supposed to get.

They are being told by vendors that they cant sell tickets from old vending machines after tonight which will further add to issues if true since new machines either aren't available at new stores or sitting empty

What a joke of a way to handle things. I have a feeling it wont go well tomorrow and that I and many people will miss out on our midday games

Camelot Illinois again not at all impressing the people of Illinois

Just got back from getting my Lucky Day tickets. Man is it a debacle everywhere

System didn't come back online until nearly noon leaving very limited time for people to get midday games. The new machines are having issues reading even properly filled out new slips and the lines everywhere to play are absurd

And most of the state's instant machines are down as many of the new one's aren't stocked/hooked up or haven't been delivered and all the old machines can no longer sell instant tickets

Its amazing how poorly this has all gone. Would have been better off cancelling Sunday games and telling everyone that they would spend Sunday getting lotto ready instead of trying to pull off this going offline at 8pm on Sunday and getting back online between 9-11am (They failed to get back online in time frame they gave)

Online sales were still down last I checked as is the Illinois site

Been unable to redeem any winning tickets at retail since new system started (Monday Morning). Illinois lottery released statement today saying they are working on issue especially for scratchers

Reports are still coming in of machines not working at various retail spots and of many not having new play slips sent to them beyond initial batch so many are out. All games must be put on playslip now so sending so few to retailers makes no sense

They seem to be having a ton of problems with online subscriptions

One has to just look at Twitter to see complaints piling up. No one at places I buy tickets are happy about this rollout

I thought Camelot has experience at lotteries? This has been amateur joke

It great Illinois lottery officials resolved both issues quickly. The fact they realized   their players deserve  to be apologized to for the inconvenience. It sounding like   they want to improve their image & increase their sales.

Sure, this problem has been fixed, but the Illinois Lottery is still a hot mess.

New scanners are not all working and when they do go live, old tickets CANNOT be scanned at customer scanners.

Also, every "LUCKY DAY LOTTO" multi draw ticket has "BOTH DRAWS" printed under the play dates.

This is false information.

If you buy a multi draw after the midday draw, the ticket will still read "BOTH DRAWS" for that date.

This is going to be a problem. One could simply pick the midday numbers and get a multi draw after that midday draw and the Illinois Lottery would generate a ticket stating that the numbers are valid for "BOTH DRAWS", instant winner on the face of ticket.

Also, if you look for winning numbers on the phone app, you must now register and give up your email address just to view winning numbers.

Not sure if this is even legal.
